19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on court had led observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better service.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early opportunities in a tight third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
